The danger lies, not in what happens to us, but in the choices we make in response.

Choose wisely.

Planning Your Financial Future

Financial Planning

It's really about deciding how to best allocate a limited amount of available financial resources in the most efficient manner among an unlimited number of financial needs and desires. Its purposing, in advance, how you are going to spend, save, and invest rather than just reacting to the circumstances that place demands on our finances.

Insurance Review
Most people only get advice on insurance from somebody who is trying to sell it to them. I recommend how much insurance a client needs, and I give them a minimum and a maximum amount to spend. Then I tell them what would best fit their needs and how much it should cost.

There are several no commission policies available, and I offer my clients the 800 numbers. Sometimes it's actually less expensive to get term insurance through a licensed agent, and I suggest they contact their current agent or shop around before making a final decision.

Estate Planning
Out of all the areas in financial planning, setting up the estate plan is where clients frequently procrastinate the most.

Therefore if you currently do not have a Will or your Will needs updating, the open retainer does include a simple Will, durable power of attorney, health care proxy & living Will. These documents will be prepared by a licensed attorney. Moreover, Will updates are included at no additional charge whenever a client's situation changes.

When a client has a more complex estate the goal becomes to reduce estate taxes. This planning may call for various types of trusts, family limited partnerships, charitable giving and planned giving. Advice is given on how these tools should be structured and then a list of attorneys is provided who can draft the documents.

I can work with the attorney to make sure that the estate plan is properly implemented; by making sure assets are titled appropriately.
